New Drum Packs instruments not showing up to play with?

Post by klrouw01 »

I recently downloaded the 6 new Packs from the Drum Store.

There are new Instruments in the PADS section, like the Mbira, Mbira Giant, Metallic Textures, and several others that only seem to be available in there and not in the PARTS section... and vice versa too. Is there a way to get all the instruments to work in both the PADS and PARTS section of the app? Seems to be an odd limitation otherwise.

No, the app is a combination of percussion loops and pad instruments, and there is intentionally not always going to be a matching set of them. The loops are actually performed audio recordings (in most cases) and not triggered samples. In some cases, as is the case with the tuned percussion, it would not make any sense to have those in the loops section since they can be considered melodic. In other cases, it was just a decision made by Pete Lockett (the source of all the sounds in the app).

We will certainly consider any requests for specific loop or pad instruments, for future inclusion in downloadable content!

Think I understand. New to all this.

Just thought that the Mbira and Giant mBira were beautiful sounding instruments and would have loved to looped them to some extent.

Ah, so you wanted to loop your own playing live and have it played back? Due to some complexities with the time-stretching implementation in DrumJam we don't have that feature in the app. BUT, you can use AudioBus so that you can do this easily in other apps such as Loopy.
