MIDI assignments for XY and effects

A fantastic app.

However, one part that's missing...what pretty much every developer keeps missing, to be fair...is the ability to assign MIDI to the XY pad and effects parameters. There's other great apps like MidiMe that have a range to XY pads on the screen. It would be great to have DrumJam and other apps playing in the background, while I'm controlling the XY and effects with MidiMe or any number of other apps. Simply assigning a CC note etc to these parameters would open up the level of control considerably.

It's interesting that music app devs have finally really embraced MIDI, but that full control over MIDI mapping remains elusive.

To be honest it is mostly just a matter of developer laziness (including my own of course!). Most of the work for this kind of feature is actually in the user interface to do all the generic bindings. Both DrumJam and ThumbJam are lacking with regard to customizable MIDI bindings, but there's no good reason for not having it. Perhaps in the next major version updates!

Yeah, cool Jesse. Tnx for the consideration. It really would be quite amazing to have all these mappable parameters that could be controlled via another app or a 2nd iPad/iPhone or a MIDI clip in Ableton.
