Drumjam + Ableton Sync out of whack

Audio routing: Ipad 6 w/Drum Jam > ADAT > RME Babyface Pro FS > Ableton

Midi Sync: Ableton Link > hardwire connection to wireless router > wireless connection to Ipad in same room

Other IOS music apps sync fine (tested with sequencers and arps), but Drumjam coming through delayed? Drumjam is picking up the correct project BPM from Ableton (128bpm)

Ableton Link is all setup and working fine. But there is about 71ms delay hearing the audio come through my audio interface. Have tested using direct monitoring from the RME interface and monitoring through Ableton and problem seems to be the same both methods.

Played around with track delay +/- and also driver error compensation in Ableton which didn't help. Any other thoughts?

Update:

After a late night of jamming and messing around, I managed to get some improvement in the timing/syncing, at least with a few of the presets. By enabling the BPM button on the main screen to the right of the preset list and below the save button, that seemed to help with certain presets. The documentation is a bit unclear as to what this button actually does. It say's this:

LOAD BUTTON – When loading a preset there is an option to load the BPM, LOOP, LOOPFX, PAD, and PADFX. If you want to load a preset but do not want the BPM, loops, loop effects, solo pads, or pad effects to change, the appropriate buttons will need to be deselected.

This sentence hurts my brain a bit as I feel it needs more explanation but I'm presuming each of the presets were recorded at a certain BPM and this bpm has been saved into the preset settings (not visible). So if you want to disregard the BPM of the preset to and have the percussion loop play at the main app BPM (in sync with Ableton), you need to enable (disable?) the BPM radio button? The odd thing is that some presets work just fine without enabling the BPM button? Unless it just so happens they were recorded at the same BPM as my project? Ughhh I dunno....

The next piece of the puzzle is that there is still a delay when monitoring in Ableton so I found by recording in Ableton with monitoring off and using "direct monitoring" in my audio interface software mixer, I was able to hear the percussion loop playing in time with project and was able to edit the loop as it was playing to suit my song. The recording was also close enough in time not to be a major drama aligning it up. So happy days for now!
